Children learn through imitation and experimentation. So, imagine the benefits of traveling together to a magical butterfly forest, canoeing on a camping trip, and catching bubbles in Bubbleland.
Imagine with Me classes truly have it all. Developed by a Speech and Language Pathologist, with more than 20 years' experience designing and implementing 'learning through play' programs, each class incorporates several aspects of developmental learning...giving your child a truly 'balanced education'.
Each week in Imagine With Me, your instructor will guide you on different themed adventure, designed to help develop your child’s creative thinking, social and communication skills and overall language. Activities include puppets, costumes, instruments, tunnels, scarves, bouncing balls, art projects, and much more.
What do we do for 60 minutes?
§ Warm-Up: Children choose open-ended creative materials to engage with. Social skills are at work. Materials are always changing.
§ Introduction of Theme: Children soon learn to ask, "Where are we going today?"
§ The Adventure: This imagination-based journey will find everyone traveling to a special 'on-site' destination each week. This kind of creative interaction prepares children by developing problem solving skills, sequencing, self-expression and comprehension.
§ Creative Movement Activities: Inclusion of props such as balance domes, and tunnels help develop and refine physical ability, spatial awareness, and freedom to explore independently.
§ Music and Song: Familiar songs and new tunes comprised of original rhymes help develop rhythm, sound and literacy awareness, new vocabulary, coordination of body movements with related language. Instrument experimentation also encouraged.
§ Art Projects: Easy to accomplish, with minimal assistance, crafts are perfect for developing creativity, tactile diversity, sense of accomplishment and act as tangible reminders of the class. Projects… not works of art!
